They also offer a pretty cool Wyoming Cowboy Campout in the summer that we just missed. Right from the lodge, you can do horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking, and fishing. If you’re looking to get out in the Bridger-Teton National Forest, Togwotee is a great place to make your base camp. ![]() Be sure to have a drink at the saloon and shoot some pool or play some games. The Grizzly Grill and the Red Fox Saloon has you covered for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We had a full kitchen (fridge, stove, sink and microwave) so we were able to cook our meals just like we were in the RV.ĭon’t like cooking when you’re on vacation? No problem, there are 2 restaurants at Togwotee. And best part was that Indy (our sweet Labrador Retriever) was welcome too! They also have a main lodge that has different accommodations based on the number of guests you’ll have with you. We stayed in a very nice cabin that had a bedroom with 2 large queen beds and a pull-out sofa sleeper. It offers a prime location – only 18 miles to Cody and 30 miles to the park entrance. The Historic Wapiti Lodge near the Shoshone River is nestled in the heart of Wapiti Valley. It’s nothing fancy but offers a convenient stay near Cody. Back-in and pull-through sites are available here. Where to Stay Buffalo Bluff RV Parkīuffalo Bluff RV Park, located in Cody, is about 50 miles from the east entrance to the park. I was pretty sure the RV would fit driving in the first time and luckily it did!Ĭheck out: Things To Do In Cody, Wyoming. This may have been my favorite stretch of the entire trip! You drive right in a canyon between two large mountains and go through tunnels that go right through the mountain. Last, but definitely not least is the drive from Cody, heading west toward Yellowstone. That’s a full day of old-western style entertainment! Then at 6pm (6 nights a week in the summer), outside of the Irma Hotel, there is a gun fight re-enactment. There you’ll find plenty of restaurants to eat at and a few taverns to enjoy a cold one. Explore CodyĪfter checking out the museum, take a walk down the main street in Cody. The kids really enjoyed the Draper National History Museum where we learned a lot about Yellowstone’s wildlife and ecosystem. And don’t forget about the daily activities schedule, including yoga, character encounters, evening story time, a dance party, and even arts and crafts.So, there’s pretty much something for everyone here. This attraction turns the lodge into a live-action game filled with fantastical adventures around the resort. Those into exploration will also appreciate MagiQuest. When the family wants a break from splashing around, the attractions provide the thrill of video games at the Northern Lights Arcade, sifting for gems at Oliver’s Mining Sluice, duckpin bowling at Ten Paw Alley, and laser tag at the Laser Trail. No wonder this is one of the best indoor water parks near Washington, DC! Racoon Lagoon offers outdoor fun during the warmer months, including a pool, tub slides, and mini-golf. Hot tubs, water basketball, a fort structure, and an obstacle run provide further variety for kids looking to stay active or perhaps catch their breath. More than a dozen features entertain families in the indoor water park, including a zero-entry wave pool, toddler pool and play area, lazy river, and slides for all ages and abilities.
